


Solo Re-entries Clinic (2 hours)
Want to refine your paddle float re-entry or nail that elusive scramble? We’ll look at both of these solo re-entry techniques in detail and offer different approaches for each. You’ll learn ways to refine and speed up your paddle float re-entry, as well as exercises to break down the scramble into components that will help you bring this more challenging solo re-entry together. (4 students maximum)
Dates and Locations:
- June 15, 2025: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Westwood Lake Park.
- June 15, 2025: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Westwood Lake Park. – WAITLIST
Fee: $80 per person. ($75 for active paddling club members.)
Rescue Scenarios Clinic (2 hours)
Put your assisted re-entry skills to the test in some “real-world” situations! We’ll look at ways to make your rescue technique more efficient and effective, and get you thinking about how to apply and adapt your rescue skills outside the box of a typical practice context — all in a supportive and fun learning environment. (4 students maximum)

Prerequisites
To attend either clinic, you must have received previous training in how to complete both assisted and solo re-entries. You must be comfortable with executing a controlled wet exit from your kayak, with a spray skirt on. You must be prepared to get wet and have fun!
Required Equipment
- Your own sea kayak with full spray skirt, paddle and Transport-Canada required safety gear (PFD with whistle attached, throw bag, bilge pump).
- Weather-appropriate wetsuit OR drysuit with appropriate layers underneath. We will be in the water/wet for the duration of the clinic!
- Paddle float and pump.
- Extra set of warm dry clothes in a drybag.
- Optional: neoprene cap/surf hood, gloves, nose clips, earplugs.
